CAS Launches Innovation Incubator to Partner with Early-stage Innovators
CAS offers resources, expertise, and potential funding to early-stage innovators to boost their science-based ventures.
Columbus, Ohio, USA – October 4, 2022 – CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society, is launching the CAS Innovation Incubator™ to assist early-stage scientific organizations accelerating new ventures, particularly those creating unique applications that could benefit future research and development.
Uniquely so, CAS will provide early-stage innovators with access to the CAS Content Collection™ and its exclusive technologies that reveal unseen connections among disparate data, as well as CAS expertise in mapping and managing intellectual property in multiple scientific disciplines, and in some cases, financial support.
“Throughout our history, CAS has partnered with innovators around the world to accelerate the process of scientific discovery,” says CAS President Manuel Guzman. “The CAS Innovation Incubator will infuse selected partners with access to unique resources and expertise from CAS during their critical development phase to advance their ideas and improve their chances for a successful activation.”
Eligible organizations may apply via the CAS Innovation Incubator portal. Eligible applicants should be start-ups seeking to advance scientific innovation solutions, or participants in the angel investing or venture capital space. Individual entrepreneurs in the commercial or academic sectors may also be eligible. Awards could be in the form of access to CAS solutions, and/or advice from CAS experts in key areas, such as scientific content management, AI, machine learning, etc. In some instances, funding may also be possible.
“CAS is taking this step to advance science and improve people's lives through our expanding efforts to support innovation in a range of disciplines,’” said Dr. Michael Dennis, CAS Vice President, Innovation. “Many of today’s science start-ups could benefit from more than just capital. They require specialized data, additional expertise, and advanced technologies to create new life-changing solutions, including advanced AI to predict new drugs or new materials, and more.”
